KINGDOM: Dawson City
One Throne Magazine is run from the heart of the Klondike: Dawson City, Yukon (far north of Canada) on the traditional land of the Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in First Nation.

Former Dawson writers include Jack London, Pierre Berton, and Robert Service.
​
The population of the "city" stands at around 2,000 and is packed with creative minds. Dawson has an art school, writer-in-residence program, an artist-in-residence program, one of Canada's largest music festivals, an annual printing and publishing symposium, short film festival, etc.
​
In 1957, Order of Canada recipient and local writer Pierre Berton narrated a short film about his hometown, which was nominated for an Academy Award. It's only 20 minutes and well worth viewing.
